Stories and memories

The Red Sea myths were not supposed to make you laugh, but to make you realise how stories make those places special. Like in Kartogrpahy, the protagonist argues that when you give street names, which were formerly known by the stories, something goes missing.

So, when I roam around in this city of lights, or when I think about the city where I spent my childhood, the names of the roads do not matter, but the moments that we've enjoyed or not enjoyed mark those places. Every place, every corner is like a friend you leave behind, a friend who shared that moment of happiness or sorrow with you. And when you revisit those places, you look at them with affection and the memories become alive again. You may not be able to live all those moments again, but the idea of having those moments, those ordinary moments that now are turned into something special, gives you happiness and joy that you can never express in words, but they make you smile that no one but you can understand.
