Fundamentalist!!!

Yesturday during a seminar in the I.R department at KU, the honourable spreaker Mr Ikram-ul-Majeed Sehgal, actually said that wearing hijab and wearing ur trousers above your ankles(for men) are minor issues!!! And I couldn't controll the sarcastic smile that formed under my naqab (veil... covering of the face)
What is Islam? Who is a Muslim? Well... Islam is a complete code of life and a Muslim is a person who submits himself to Allah alone and bows before Him alone and when you come under the fold of Islam you're bound to live your life according to the Quran and Sunnah(practices and saying of the Prophet Mohammad saw). So when the Quran says that you have to cover yourself up, then there's NO room for questioning, exceptions or there is no saying NO to all those orders and rules set by Quran and Sunnah.

" And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons..."[Al-Qur’an 24:31]

This is a common mistake people make and say out loud in authority that wearing hijab and naqab are of no importance in Islam but then do Quraniic verses hold no importance in the eyes of such people?
We are labelled as FUNDAMENTALISTS and I'm proud to be called a fundametalist as well. I have no right to distort the Quranic teachings, to disobey the laws of Allah and to disregard His sayings and orders.

Hope!

The city was on fire! Everywhere you looked, you saw something burning, u heard people screaming and then suddenly everything went black!
The lights revived and life got back to normal. Things got smoooth once again...

This is Karachi. We have experienced the worst violence over the years. People have gone used to bomb blasts, strikes, ethnic violence and then a prolonged holiday because haalaat bohot kharab hain but the same people bring back the life in the deserted streets of Karachi. Even when it's a bloodied strike you will see kids playing in the streets in the evening. Even when the streets are haunted by the shrieking sounds of gunfire, you'll see people laughing on lame jokes. This is Karachi, these are Karachiites... nomatter how bad things are there's still is hope! There still is light, colour and faith that keeps them from going insane...
