Bunking again!!!

Bunking again, but today there was a reason... we were soo fed up with the monotonous writing skills class that four of us bunked it and went to take philosophy's class of Mr. W.S.
To our surprise we didn't see an old man, who wears thick glasses with strict face and thunderous voice which could kill anyone who has sensitive ears. The teacher was quite young and yet very knowledge-able and one of those who make the outsiders feel at home.

Well... What we did was the Difference Principle of John Rawls...which stated that;
1. Equal Freedom of all
2 (a) Greatest benefit goes to the least advantaged section of the society
2(b) Equal oppurtunity to compete.

I'm not going into each detail but this is what we learned .. the first point he suggested actually refers to the freedom to choose from the various choices available to them. Meaning the conception of the "the good" they have can be anything from counting the stars to doing research on drug abuse. Everyone has the freedom to think what's good and what's not and they are given freedom to exercise their own conceptions.
The person who restricts your freedom, or the concept that restricts your freedom.. you tend to run away from that. for example, people idealise players, actors, etc. because they don't question you or restricts you from doing whatever you want to do... but if you idealise a Prophet, you'll have to abide by the things he's gonna ask you and practice what he tells you to... in other words RESTRICTING your FREEDOM of choices... ( the teacher also said that this is the main reason that people in Europe/west don't go to church that much.. because it restricts your freedom).
Anyway, relating it with today's cartoon controversy, the cartoon was a FREEDOM of EXPRESSION to the West BUT what about that Irish dude who's sent to jail for denying haulocast.. why wasn't he not given his right... in the broader perspective the freedom of expression of that Irish was restraining the accumulation of capitalism.. that's why... (I'm thinking of changing my major from English to Philosophy..lol)...
Going ahead... Every conception of "good" is not recognizable.. Who are we to judge what's good or not.. isn't this what Iblees did. He was asked to bow before Adam and he didn't claiming that he'll do what he thinks is right and not what God has asked him to. The concept of determining what's right and what's wrong by an INDIVIDUAL is what Ibleesiyat is...

I'm signing off with the last thought that I have... Allah has provided us with the best of laws for everything.. and last but not the least a question to ponder on by Mr. F."Can human beings ever come up with the holistic understanding of life that comprehensively takes care of all the facets of life?"
Think about it!!!
