Double Standards!!!

I was just going through Mr. Khalid Baig's article and guess what i just found out...

The Danish constitution constitutes of these Articles... just take a look...

"Section 266b of the Danish Criminal Code provides:
Any person who, publicly or with the intention of wider dissemination, makes a statement or imparts other information by which a group of people are threatened, insulted or degraded on account of their race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religion, or sexual inclination shall be liable to a fine or to imprisonment for any term not exceeding 2 years.

And its section 140, which deals with blasphemy, reads:
Those who publicly mock or insult the doctrines or worship of any religious community that is legal in this country, will be punished by a fine or incarceration for up to 4 month."

Do I need to say more?! Do these rules mean anything to them?! Are Muslims not included in the Human Race, where these rules are applicable?! I'm sure if a Muslim would have even uttered a word against them in public, he would have been dealt with strictly!
Why not consider the whole act against the Muslim World?! Why not boycott their stuff?! That's our freedom of expression.. why can't we choose to eat whatever we want to eat?! Why all the freedom is only for the West and not the Muslims?! Why when a nun is covered, she has devoted her self to the religion and when a Muslim woman is covered she needs to be liberated?!

Hello Amsa

I left this same comment on my blog as well. In reference to your comment on my blog.

I hope I haven't offended you with any of my blogs material.

First let me say that I believe there are many good Muslims in this world who wish to harm no one, and the same can be said for most non-muslims. I hope you and I fall into that category.

There are many horrible things that America, Britain, and Russia have done to lesser rated (second or third world order) countries. Afghanistan and Iraq have really been a big pawns in their war games over the years as well as too many other countries to mention.

I didn't do it? I have no power over it. There is nothing I can do but try to understand it. I wish I could do something about it, and I'm doing all I can do right now by discussing it with you.

World history has always been about larger countries dominating smaller countries in some form or another. I'm not saying it's right, but that's just the way it is.

Have you ever been to America? If you come to America....you don't have to worry about being kidnapped ,or be-headed in front of a camera by some extremest American trying to make a point. We might do something stupid like make fun off you or try to embarrass you but certainly not have you killed for the media coverage.

Now....on the other hand.....If I go to Muslim country....I am very worried that I might be kidnapped, be-headed, by an extremist muslim, or blown to pieces by suicide bomber along with many, many other innocent people. They would even blow up a dozen innocent muslims to kill one infidel.

That is the difference living in non- muslim country versus living in muslim country! That is the way we see it....sorry?

I know of no other country that has the freedoms we have over here?

You made the statement "I'm not makign a statement here.."

Well.....I beg to differ....you are making a statement and you seem a little upset by what's going on in the world around you and you have every right to be.

Amsa......You are good Muslim and I am honored that you comment on my blog.

I will try to look at the world through your eyes. I will probably agree with you on many things, but I'm sure we will disagree also. But that is OK.

You are so young to be worried about things you cannot control. I wish I had your maturity when I was your age. I could care less about the world back when I was a kid.

Thank you bringing Robert Frisk to my attention. I will have to study him in more detail.

I'm sorry Muslim countries are a pawn in a much bigger picture, but be-headings and suicide bombings for no other reason than media coverage have gotten the muslim name in the predicament it's now in.

Come back and post a comment any time. You are always welcome in my little blog of a world.

Hello Amsa

I cannot comment on Danish criminal codes as I can hardly understand the criminal codes in my own country. That's why the attorneys make the big bucks.

I will agree that you have every right to boycott any product of your choosing.

I like your last statement : "Why when a nun is covered, she has devoted her self to the religion and when a Muslim woman is covered she needs to be liberated?!"

You could write an article on that statement alone.

Are you saying we as non-muslims are denying muslim women to be covered? I can see the point of their faces needing to be unveiled for identification purposes, but other than that......they should be allowed to be veiled.

Have you studied muslim "Honor Killings"? Don't you agree with Bina Shah on at least being liberated from that?

I wish I could make you happy. You have to make yourself happy.

I wish you happiness over peace!

Amsa: A very good post indeed, MashaAllah :)

Jimmy: I am glad that finally we have someone who recognises the right of Muslim women to veil their faces in accordance with their religion. However, in this post of mine I would like to differ on certain points:

"If I go to Muslim country....I am very worried that I might be kidnapped, be-headed, by an extremist muslim, or blown to pieces by suicide bomber along with many, many other innocent people. They would even blow up a dozen innocent muslims to kill one infidel."

Well, first of all I would like to say that it IS not the case in every other MUSLIM COUNTRY. I agree, that here in Pakistan we do hear about sectarian killings being done by suicide bombing. But c'mon you have to admit that we just don't go on killing people who tend to come to our country. There are so many English and American living in our country without being be-headed! UAE is another example where we tend to find people of all origins and countries living in a peaceful state.
Perhaps, the countries you referred to meant Iraq, Afghanistan or Palestine etc. Now if that is the case, then, I must say that those countries are not at all politically or socially stable. Why? The world knows about. I do not need to ramble upon it. A country that is oppressed in the name of liberation cannot do anything but rise against its oppressors! And it's only then that we see the cases of 'terrorism' coming into view. But then again the basic question is, who instigated them to resort to such kind of violence? Now that would be a big debate. The only point I am trying to make here is that please don't make suicide bombings or be-headings sound like a norm in the Muslims countries!

As far as the 'Honour Killings' issue is concerned, yes Bina Shah is right that we need to abandon the practice. But then again, its only in some interior parts of Pakistan where people believe in such a heinous practice and yes they need to be enlightened about that because it's something that completely goes against the Islamic teachings.

P.S. Your long comments on one of my very good friend’s blog actually tempted me to write all this. And this is nothing but my opinions that may be right or wrong. And anyone has a right to disagree because I agree that people do disagree with me :) Keep commenting, Jimmy. It was indeed wonderful reading your post!
